Your spouse's marital abuse becomes overwhelming: you discover they have fallen in love with another person, their financial abuse has caused significant losses, and their growing pattern of chaotic behavior is putting strains on the family and the relationship.
You peacefully confront your spouse.
Your spouse's reaction just days later: They become paranoid and spiteful, turning the story around on you and they begin spreading lies to the community. But, worst of all, they fabricate a story to the court containing only lies and provide no evidence - they file an order to take your children from you - PERMANENTLY. You consult with attorneys and most tell you that you will lose automatically. You're advised that the family court system doesn't acknowledge basic constitutional rights, including due process. You're tortured by thoughts of losing everything in the world that's important to you, you'll have a permanent public record, and your life will be ruined.
It's a real story. It occurs in Texas daily - thousands of cases yearly. It's the result of morally deficient parents, encouraged by unethical attorneys, taking advantage of a broken family court system. It happened to FAMCO's founder. He won, in large part because his attorney aggressively and quickly exposed the truth about his wife's horrific marital abuses. But sadly, over 95% of innocent victims of false civil orders lose the battle and lose the children they love. This horrific problem needs to be exposed and change needs to happen.
Approximately 70% of protective orders (permanent restraining orders) are filed with false allegations. Less than 5% of those false orders are beaten. The reason is simple: Texas courts do not apply a fundamental concept to protective orders that is deeply embedded in the American legal system and constitution - innocent until proven guilty. The court wrongfully places the burden of proof on the defendant to prove their innocence rather than placing the burden of proof on the plaintiff to prove guilt. Texas courts require only accusations, and no evidence, to approve a protective order.
Thousands of innocent parents are permanently separated from tens of thousands of children each year as a result of false orders in Texas. The same children annually remain under the sole custody of a parent who has no shame in lying to the court system and no remorse for the collateral damage - causing permanent emotional damage to their own children.
The entire Texas judicial system is aware of this problem and accepts it, even though it's completely contradictory to justice, with most attorneys blaming incompetent and inexperienced elected lawmakers in Austin.

FAMCO embraces the concept that a society built on a foundation of truth is more likely to promote ethical behavior and discourage deception. FAMCO stands firm in its belief that any information considered rumors, hearsay, defamation, or "my side of the story" does not promote truth and thus will not be a tactic in FAMCO's strategy. FAMCO is committed to publishing truth supported by hard evidence and facts in its mission to hold those accountable for misinformation and abuse.
FAMCO has established relationships with top Fort Worth area civil attorneys and local officials to ensure its efforts maintain a truthful and lawful approach.
FAMCO was founded by a father in Southlake, Texas whose wife filed a protective order and restraining order against him in September 2024. His wife's court filings contained proven lies and she did not provide the court any evidence - she only submitted a 3-page dishonest written declaration. As he fought against the orders, he suffered through several weeks of not being able to see his children and tortuous thoughts of losing them forever.
FAMCO's founder beat the orders after his attorney had his wife's lover subpoenaed to court, financial records revealed that she lost $200,000 in a risky investment that she entered into against her husband's desire just a year earlier, and her proven and growing pattern of unstable behavior resulted in her being ordered to have a psychological evaluation.
The fight continues now that FAMCO's founder has permanent joint custody of his children. His now ex-wife filed criminal complaints against him in June of 2025 with a local law enforcement agency. She communicated plans to the agency that she would return to file more complaints in an attempt to build a criminal case against him.
Fortunately, the agency is aware of his ex-wife's pattern of unstable behavior and provided FAMCO's founder the complaint information. Once again, the complaints were completely baseless and his ex-wife provided the agency no relevant evidence and only allegations. The agency immediately ceased any further investigation into the claims.
To this day, his ex-wife's pattern of similar unstable behavior continues: filing criminal complaints against people that she believes are acquaintances of her ex-husband, having an attorney send threatening demand letters to the same people, and communicating to multiple people that she's the victim and the emotional impact to their children is caused by her ex-husband rather than her actions.
Certain individuals continue to support his ex-wife even after having all of the facts, including a previous neighbor and mother of three. Refusing to unequivocally detest this type of behavior is equal to being complicit with child abuse. There is no excuse for a parent to unlawfully take their children, or attempt to unlawfully take their children, from another parent. There are not two sides to a story when facts have proven the truth.
FAMCO's founder has experienced the full extent of a manipulated and broken court system. It has now become his life-long mission to advocate for change and to pursue justice and accountability.
Exposing the truth of a malicious civil order is critical in FAMCO's mission for two primary reasons:
1) People and institutions deserve the truth. Individuals that lie to the court system and file malicious orders have a reckless disregard for the law. They prioritize their own selfish means even over the well-being of their own children, which means that no person is immune to being a victim of their behavior.
2) Consequences discourage people from bad behavior, whether criminal, immoral, or otherwise. Currently, there are no legal consequences against individuals who have or will lie to the court system and file malicious orders. FAMCO promotes an alternative legal means of providing consequences to these individuals: exposing their horrific actions to the public.
These individuals are often blinded by their sole focus of getting away with a malicious order and never consider this consequence. After being exposed, they are often shocked - claiming defamation or other civil torts.
Fortunately, victims of malicious protective orders have fundamental American and Texas laws on their side to protect lawful free speech.
The First Amendment to the Constitution protects any individual who chooses to express their views, whether written or verbal. Texas further protects free speech under Section 27.001, Civil Practice and Remedies Code, which defines terms for the Texas Citizens Participation Act (TCPA). The TCPA is designed to protect individuals from meritless legal claims that seek to silence speech on matters of public concern. Matters of public concern are broadly defined - essentially anything that an individual deems to be a matter of public concern.
The Constitution and the TCPA protect the following:
- Sharing public court records.
- Sharing medical records of yourself or your children.
- Making a factual statement.
- Making a statement that is expressed as ostensibly an opinion.
- Making a statement that does not directly include the name of the individual.
Any civil tort or crime is negated when the First Amendment and/or TCPA comes into the argument and almost every civil tort code or criminal code will specifically cite the negation. God bless the USA.
A grassroots effort has recently begun to make a positive impact for parents and children who are victims of false protective orders. New organizations are working tirelessly to enact legislative change across many areas of family and civil law, including protective orders.
Robert Garza, former Texas mayor, is at the forefront of the movement (robertgarza.us). FAMCO's founder shares a common experience with Mr. Garza and he is joining the effort.
Some examples of legislative change include the following:
